Holiday Gifts for Children The Club purchases gifts for children in needy families and for ARC of Lane County. Gifts are wrapped and delivered to several locations.
Head Start Helmets Project The Club purchases bike helmets for kids at the Whiteaker Head Start Center. Club members work to fit helmets to each kid.
Food Box Project In partnership with the South Town Rotary, we are delivering food boxes to families from Aubrey Park Elementary School. We help out on the second and fourth Thursday of the month. The boxes include non-perishable food, fresh produce and extras (e.g., detergent, diapers, etc.). We also donate gifts during the Holidays to families in need at Aubrey Park Elementary School.
Service Leadership Program
Key Club (Kiwanis Clubs for high school students) – Club members provide mentorship and leadership services to the Key Club at Sheldon HS. The Club also funds a portion of their costs for convention attendance and operations.
Scholarships
High school – The Club and its Foundation provide two to four scholarships to graduating seniors in local high schools. The funds are to be used for tuition and supplies at an Oregon college or university.
College – The Foundation manages the George Hopkins Endowment that provides an annual scholarship to a graduate student pianist at the UO School of Music.

Schools Support
Elementary school supplies – In August the Club purchases school supplies and donates them to River Bend and McCornack Elementary Schools.
High school supplies – The Club provides supplies to South Eugene HS for at risk and homeless high school students.
Sheldon HS Dublinaires – The Club provides funding for the choral ensemble and the group performs for the club during the holidays.
Fund raising – The Club and its Foundation help McCornack Elementary School raise funds each December that are used to help pay down the EWEB bills of the school’s needy families.
Future projects – The Club is planning to become involved in providing food and shelter to homeless students at South Eugene HS. This will involve partnerships with Food for Lane County and the 15th Night Coalition.
Projects With the Whiteaker Head Start Center
Helmet Giveaway – The club donates helmets to approximately 150 students.
Financial Support – The club assists with Head Start fundraising events.
Food For Lane County (FFLC) Every month club members, Key Club members, and UO CKI members volunteer at FFLC to help repurpose donated foods. (We encourage everyone to come see the scope of activities at FFLC.)
Parenting Now! The club has provided site maintenance, support for parking at Duck football games, as well as fundraising events such as the Phone-a-thon, Mother’s Day 5k, and annual auction.
Kids First The Club provides funds for equipment and assists in fundraising activities for this very necessary service.
Asian Festival The Club has provided leadership and support for the Eugene Asian Festival for more than 30 years. This annual event occurs in February. The Club has also supported the Asian Kite Festival held at Yujin Gakuen 4J Immersion School in the spring of each year.
Eugene Mission The Club donates warm clothes and blankets to the Mission during the winter months.
Kiwanis Cancer Care Program (KCCP) and Doernbecher Children’s Hospital The Club and its Foundation financially support the KCCP and Doernbecher Children’s Hospital through the Pacific Northwest Kiwanis District. KCCP, in support of Kiwanis Doernbecher Children’s Cancer Program in Portland OR., Kiwanis Children’s Cancer Program in Seattle WA. and the Kiwanis Children’s Cancer Program in British Columbia and the Yukon, raise money and awareness to fight and find the cure for children’s cancer. KCCP funds the salaries of three fellows to research childhood cancer and treat children with cancer. Approximately 12,000 oncology visits for children in the PNW District are made each year.
Social Events The Club holds various social events to help keep members connected and to recruit future members to the Club. Food and beverages are usually involved.
Kiwanis Region 6 Club Leadership Education The Club supports and is involved with educational programs hosted by the PNW District Kiwanis Office. These are held annually during mid-summer in Springfield.
